Over the last couple of years, there's been some major advances and backing in the virtual and augmented reality spaces with new consumer hardware and smartphone-powered options. You only have to look at the new Tango-enabled phones and some of announcements from Google to see that things are becoming more mainstream.

In this blog post, I will show how to create a WebVR application using equirectangular photos. The app will work on headsets, mobile devices and also within web browsers.
