Cake has recently carried out a review of its disaster recovery procedures to ensure that following a major incident, such as a fire, we can be carrying out client work again within 24 hrs. In addition to the daily tape backup (as well as a weekly off site back up) we will shortly be carrying out a secondary back up of all our source code data to an offsite server with Rackspace who also carry out daily backups. Jira and Confluence will now be hosted by Rackspace so any major incident at the office will not result in our systems failing. Basecamp is already hosted centrally. There are a number of additional improvements to ensure that we meet our 24 hour deadline. We aim to have these improvements fully implemented by W/E 8th November 2006.
