Formed in March 2001, Cake Solutions Limited is a software and J2EE e-business solutions provider. Cake can help you make the most of your information systems, we excel in working with companies to provide cost-effective, innovative software solutions that meet your exact requirements.

Cake Solutions provides Java EE architecture, mentoring, implementation and delivery services. The core members of our team are all published authors and have vast experience with the Spring Framework, Spring AOP, AspectJ, Hibernate, Java EE web development and Java SE desktop development. In addition to our Java skills, we are experts on jQuery and Ruby on Rails — we can combine enterprise Java with rapid web development.

Cake specialise in open source technologies, as well as retaining skills in other areas. We are proud to have a comprehensive portfolio of clients that we have built up since 2001. We have designed and deployed websites and systems, ranging from brochure sites for small businesses to enterprise-level systems for the large organisations such as UK Trade and Investment.

Together with our project management systems, we take the best out of domain driven designs to produce high quality software. The members of the Cake team are all Sun certified Java programmers.

The Technical Bit

We rely on open source software in our day-to-day development; it gives us access to very high quality code and allows us to customise it to our needs. We give back to the open source community by actively supporting the Spring Modules project.

A recent example of our work is a central government knowledge management system. The system was developed using Java with open source libraries such as the Spring Framework, Lucene, jBPM and many others. The system is deployed in BEA WebLogic 9.2 and uses Oracle 10g to store application data, Apache 2.0 handles the web interface.

Whatever scale of system you ask us to develop, we will make use of our extensive architecture experience; the code we write is well-documented and because we use standard design patterns, it is easy for other developers to understand. We will always ask you to tell us the vision for your system; by sharing the same vision, we will be able to write code that will be easy to extend in the future.
